Luisa Aviv LISW

Luisa Aviv has more than 20 years experience as a clinical and medical social worker in both private practice and at the Cleveland Clinic, where she spent more than 12 years serving in a variety of medical areas that included oncology and infectious disease. Her extensive community service includes leadership roles as both an educator and advocate for such organizations as the Northeast Ohio Social Work Oncology Group, where she served as president for two years, and Hope Lodge, where she is a member of the professional advisory board. She holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University. Her specialties include marital/relationship issues (for which she utilizes Imago therapy), parental guidance, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and she often incorporates relaxation, guided imagery and meditation into her practice. She teaches Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as Tapping) to her clients as a self-help technique, which is especially effective for anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and negative emotions.
