Richard J. Cates LPCC
Richard Cates received his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northern Kentucky University and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Morehead State University. He has experience working with children and families of children with a variety of mental health disorders. He has most recently worked in a hospital setting providing individual and group therapy to clients ages 5 to 80 and facilitating a chemical dependency and substance abuse group. His areas of specialty include marital and couples issues, child and adolescent behavioral issues, child and adolescent substance abuse and dependence, sexual abuse, sexual behavioral issues, anxiety and parenting skills. He provides individual, couples, family and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults ages 6 to 65+.
