Rebecca Tamas MD, FAPA
Regional Medical Director of PsychBC, Dr. Tamas is an adult psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has more than 10 years of outpatient mental health experience and has experience with inpatient, integrated, emergency and academic psychiatry. She became a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Kentucky in her undergraduate years. Afterwards, she attended the University of Louisville for medical school and residency training. Dr. Tamas has received multiple awards at the local, state and national level. She previously served as the Auerbach Endowed Chair of Psycho-Oncology and Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Louisville. She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has served as president of the Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association. She recently received the Harvey St. Clair Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service to organized psychiatry. She enjoys treating patients ages 18 and older who have a variety of mood and anxiety disorders.
