Rebecca Tamas MD, DFAPA
Dr. Tamas serves as Division Medical Director for PsychBC. Dr. Tamas is an adult psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has more than 10 years of outpatient mental health experience and has experience with inpatient, integrated, emergency and academic psychiatry. She completed her medical degree and residency at the University of Louisville and received her bachelor's degree form the University of Kentucky, earning Phi Beta Kappa honors. Dr. Tamas has received multiple awards at the local, state and national level. She previously served as the Auerbach Endowed Chair of Psycho-Oncology and Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Louisville. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has served as president of the Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association. She recently received the Harvey St. Clair Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service to organized psychiatry. She enjoys treating patients ages 18 and older who have a variety of mood and anxiety disorders.
