Jennifer Shoenfelt MD
Dr. Shoenfelt is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with more than 15 years of experience. She has provided psychiatry services for children and adults in community mental health clinics, residential and crisis stabilization units. She has enjoyed serving as clinical faculty for both Wright State and University of Cincinnati medical students and psychiatry residents. Dr. Shoenfelt completed medical school at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and served both her general psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. Prior to earning her medical degree, Dr. Shoenfelt graduated from the The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. She practiced in this field for 14 years prior to entering medical school, specializing in pediatric physical therapy with special emphasis in developmental disabilities and neonatal therapy. Her particular areas of expertise and interest are in treating patients with co-occurring diagnoses that include depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder and attachment disorders. She has special interest and experience in treating psychotic disorders in adolescents and young adults. She also has a specialty interest in the care of autistic children and adults and those with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental illness. Dr. Shoenfelt is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
