Derrick Martin LPCC
Derrick Martin earned his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Ashland University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in counseling and his Master of Divinity in chaplaincy from Liberty University. Prior to becoming an independently licensed psychotherapist in the state of Ohio, he served over 12 years in public safety as a police officer and firefighter/paramedic. His primary areas of clinical focus are working with individuals, couples, first responders and military personnel struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, marriage and relationship concerns and adjustment disorders. From a trauma informed approach, he primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR). He sees patients from ages 12 to 65+.
