Carol O'Connell PsyD
Dr. O'Connell developed and managed the Partial Hospitalization Program at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, where she served as program director from 2003 to 2010. She also previously was coordinator of the Intensive Outpatient Program for adults at Spring Mountain Sahara in Las Vegas, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills. Dr. O'Connell also served as staff psychologist both at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron and at Kaiser Permanente in Denver. A past president of the Colorado Women's Psychologists Association, she also has served as assistant professor of psychology for both Kent State University and the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine. She holds a bachelor's degree from Tufts University and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver, and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Psy Chi, the Psychology Honor Society. Dr. O'Connell specializes in anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression and trauma issues in adults. She also has a specialty interest in adolescent parenting issues.
