The annual Top Workplaces in Northeast Ohio ranking, sponsored by The Cleveland Plain Dealer/cleveland.com, puts PsychBC -- the only behavioral healthcare practice on the list -- at #22 for small companies.
Each year, The Plain Dealer names the best places to work in Northeast Ohio based solely on comments by staff. The survey is conducted by independent workplace consultant Workplace Dynamics.
The Plain Dealer cites "big lessons" that can be learned from the winners, including a commitment to community service and creating an environment where staff feel valued and respected.
"Overall job satisfaction appears to be tied to a company's more intangible attributes," commented The Plain Dealer, including:
- "That the company operates ethically:
- That its top executives know what they are doing;
- That the company is on course to be successful;
- That senior managers understand what is really happening; and
- That new ideas are encouraged."
"Workers want to feel appreciated. They want to feel confident about the leadership and direction of the companies where they log so many hours each week. And they want to feel like they're part of something meaningful."
"What is a healthy organization and what role do people play in it?" asked Workplace Dynamics CEO Doug Claffey.
"Healthy organizations thrive on people who feel connected to their workplace through meaningful work and the belief their company is moving in the right direction," he continued. "They are not afraid to use the 'L-word' when it comes to their jobs -- 'I love my job.' "
